Strobe away!

Hey Loves,

I hope you enjoyed my new video about "Strobing". I seriously looove highlighting so much and specially layering different highlighters is totally my thing. So here are three of my faves. If I decide to go full glam (like I did in the video) I like to start off with a cream highlighter like the one by Kiko (I couldn't find the exact same one on their website but I found a similar one.) Next comes the Benefit Sun Beam. Once I applied my creams I like to set it all with a powder highlighter and if you watch my videos, you will know that I am addicted to my Mary-Lou Manizer. Let me know what your favourite products are below. More pictures and swatches of the highlighters that I used are below as well.

Naked vs. Mac

Hello Beauties!

Today I want to compare two eyeshadow palettes. On the one hand I have the Naked palette and on the other I have the Mac Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow in Smokeluxe. I noticed that there are some colours that are pretty similar and I wanted to take the test.

The Naked palette comes with 12 neutral colours and I bought it for 50$ from Sephora in Canada. It also comes with a flat eyeshadow brush and a sample version of the Urban Decay Primer Potion.

The Mac Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow in Smokeluxe has 5 neutral colours and was for 45€. That´s 40$

Here is a close up of all the colours in the Mac palette.

I compared 5 colours from the Naked palette that I thought matched with the colours of the Mac palette and swatched them. The first colour on each arm is an eyeshadow from the Naked Palette and the one on the right are theMac shadows. Unfortunately the Mac shadows don't have any names so I wrote the numbers down.

s
Virgin - 1st colour of the Mac palette

Sidecar - 2nd colour of the Mac palette

Toasted - 3rd colour of the Mac palette

Gunmetal - 4th colour of the Mac palette

Creep - 5th colour of the Mac palette

As you can see, there are a lot of similarities between those two palettes. The Naked palette is definately more shimmery, as you can see on the last picture. The Mac black shadow is an matt one whereas the Naked one has glitter particles.
The Naked palette is more expensive than the Mac palette but therefore it has 7 more colours, comes with an eyeshadow brush, a primer and a mirror. I also feel like the Naked Palette is much more pigmented than the Mac Palette. I had to go at least three times into the Mac shadows to get a visible amount of colour on my arm for the swatches.

If I had to decide between these two palettes, I would defintely choose the Naked palette. What do you think?

I hope this post was helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below :)

Until then

 Lakmé

Happy Monday Friends !

Today I have an interesting review for you guys. Maybe some of you are familiar with this brand. It's "Lakmé" from India and I'm going to review my three favourite products. Unfortunately they don't have an online shop but here is their website so that you can look around http://www.lakmeindia.com/
Maybe you will be in India one day and have the opportunity to get some products.

These are two of my favourite Lakmé "Color Crush" nailpolishes.
The first one is a beautiful coral, pink color in the number 20.
The second one is a satin golden colour with silver sparkles in the number 01.
I recommend applying two coats for a nice result.

I'm also loving the "eyeconic kajal". It pomises to be water and smudgeproof and I can totally agree with that. It stays on all day and doesn't come off that easily.

If you have any questions, wishes or requests then leave a comment below :)

Until then

Curl me a favour!

Hey everyone !

So my friend came over today and we decided to curl her hair. We have started curling our hair like this for a couple of months now and we really like how the final look turns out. So why not share the trick with you guys? If you want big, voluminious curls then this is something you must try.

For this look you will be needing:
Aluminium foil cut in straps,
a hair straightener,
a hair mousse,
clips to hold your hair

1. Start by splitting your hair into two sections.

2. Take a strand of your hair and apply mousse to it. The bigger the strand, the bigger the curl.

3. Now wrap the strand around two fingers and hold it until it's fully wrapped.

4. Take your foil and place it under the rolled-up hair. Now wrap the foil around your hair and make sure it's snug.

5. Repeat this step to the rest of your hair until you have reached your crown.

6. Once all of your hair is folded take your straightener and clamp the
aluminium foil between it. Hold it for about 15-20 seconds. Repeat this to the rest of your hair.
Done with the straightener? You don't even have to wait. Simply release your hair from the foil ...

... and voilà !

Braid your nails!

I was inspired by one of cutepolish's nail art tutorials and tried to re-create one of them. It looks difficult but trust me, it's super easy.

For this look you will be needing three colours of your choice.
I used a mint colour by KIKO in 389 Mint Milk,
a hot pink by KIKO aswell in 361 Rasberry Pink,
a grey, silver colour by p2 in 060 Strict,
and a base and top coat.

1. You want to start off by painting all your nails with that mint polish as the base colour.

2. After that you want to take the pink polish and stroke it diagonally across half the nail.

3. Now take the silver polish and do the same as the pink one except dragging the brush from the opposite corner.

4. Take the mint colour again and drag the brush parallel to the pink line we made earlier so that it crosses over the silver line.

5. Taking the pink polish once again you want to do the same only from the opposite side. Make it cross the line we made with the mint colour. You can take the pink that is peeking out from the picture 4 as a guide.

6. With the silver drag it diagonally across the pink parallel to the mint under it.

7. Lastly, using the mint polish again, simply paint the edge of the nail making sure it's parallel to the pink line beneath.

And you're done!

Beach, please!

Hey guys,

so the weather is getting warmer and the clothes are getting shorter. That can only mean one thing: SUMMER is coming. And with the summer we have the lovely beach days where we can finally jump in those adorable bathing suits and then right into the water right? Well, almost. Besides looking all fab with the summer tan and the colourful bikinis, we need to take care of our skin too.
I've heard alot of friends saying that they don't like wearing make-up to the beach because it gets all messed up in the heat and comes off after taking a dip in the water. Guess what, there is a way to wear make-up to the beach and still look fabulous.

Here are some tips on what kind of make-up to wear when going to the beach.

1. BB-Cream
First of all you want to make sure that your skin is protected from the sun. You can either wear sunscreen underneath your make-up or wear a BB-cream instead. Most of the BB-creams have sunblock included already which is awesome. Here I have the "Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector, daily al-in-one BB-cream in medium" with SPF 20. I really like this BB-cream because it's super light on the skin and has a light to medium coverage.

2. Cream Eyeshadow
If you want to have some eyeshadow on your eyes then I recommend using a cream consistency. Cream eyeshadows are great if you want to go into the water because they won't come off so easily. I really recommend the "Color Tattoo's" by Maybelline. Here I have the colour 65-Pink Gold which, like the name already says, a beatiful pink with golden shimmer.

3. Waterproof Mascara
You can't go into the water without some waterproof mascara unless you want to look like panda. The "Rocket Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara" is great for the underwater fun.

4. Creme Blush
Same like the eyes you can't go wrong with creme. A creme blush is perfect for keeping your cheeks nice and rosy all day. Here I have the MAC cremeblend blush in "Something Special". It's a beautiful pinky coral tone which is also nice to wear on daily basis.

5. Lip balm
Last but not the least: the lips. Lip balms are great for the beach, specially when they are tinted and have SPF in it. You can definately not neglect your lips. Show them some love and pamper them too. I totally am in love with the Pout Polish by Sleek. It's a tinted lip conditioner, has SPF 15 and smells absolutely amazing. The colour I have is "Pink Cadillac". It's a bright hot pink colour ans perfect for summer.

So these were my TOP 5 make-up products for the beach. I hope you enjoyed reading.

Until next time
